چکیده
Airborne-based Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems have proved to be an efficient solution for safe and accurate detection of buried threats such as Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) anti-personnel anti-tank landmines. The design these prototypes is influenced by several parameters the working frequency band or maximum weight size payload placed on board Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). In this sense, one main bottlenecks found in proper selection GPR antenna. This contribution focuses analysis different Ultra Wideband (UWB) Vivaldi antennas their performance context airborne-based system. First, are characterized terms S11, radiation pattern, directivity, phase center. Next, they implemented prototype assess impact capabilities addition, other criteria considered make final selection. Finally, selected UWB tested a realistic scenario.

According to the United Nations, as of the year 2000 there were 70 million landmines planted in a third of the world’s nations affecting global causality rate of up to 20,000/year, (Anderson, 2002). That is why landmine detection has attracted much attention by many research teams around the world during the last two decades; among them is our research team in Nagoya University. Anti-personnel ...

the methods which are used to analyze microstrip antennas, are divited into three categories: empirical methods, semi-empirical methods and full-wave analysis. empirical and semi-empirical methods are generally based on some fundamental simplifying assumptions about quality of surface current distribution and substrate thickness. thses simplificatioms cause low accuracy in field evaluation. ful...

The land mine crisis is all over frightening since there are presently 500 million unexploded, buried mines in about 70 countries. Governments are noticing this situation seriously since land mines are claiming the limbs and lives of civilians’ very day. A multiple of landmine extraction from the data which are obtained from the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Traditional algorithms targets on ...
متن کاملSIRE : A MIMO radar for landmine / IED detection
In this paper, we present the Synchronous Impulse Reconstruction Radar (SIRE) Ultra-wideband (UWB) radar designed by the Army Research Lab (ARL) for landmine and improvised explosive device (IED) detection as a 2 by 16 MIMO radar (with collocated antennas). Its improvement over its SIMO counterpart in terms of beampattern/cross range resolution are discussed and demonstrated using simulated dat...
